One Less Gun: Officers Recover Firearm and Arrest Three Downtown

At about 3:35 AM on Sunday, April 5, 2015, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) affected an arrest for firearm related charges in the area of Kingston Street in Chinatown.

While on foot patrol in the area of Chau Chow restaurant on Essex Street, officers observed two males and a female known to them from previous drug-related incidents. Upon seeing the officers, the three individuals made furtive movements, appeared nervous, and quickly left the area to sit in a parked car. Due to the nervous behavior of these individuals, officers approached the vehicle to engage them in conversation. While speaking with the occupants of the motor vehicle, the officers observed a bulge in one of the passenger’s pants. The officers performed a pat frisk on the passenger and the passenger area of the vehicle. While doing so, officers observed in plain view a loaded North American Arms Guardian .32 caliber firearm between the front seat and the door. The officers also recovered a scale, a large bag of green vegetable matter believed to be marijuana, and over $500.

Twenty-five-year-old Jonathan Butler of Boston, 27-year-old Jordan Hart of Roxbury, and 31-year-old Alicia Weser of Hyde Park were arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Hart was further charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D Drugs (Marijuana) and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (2nd and Subsequent Offense).
