Boston Police Seek Public's Help in Identifying Individual on Surveillance Video

Boston Police Department District D-4 (South End) detectives are seeking to identify the above individual in relation to a commercial burglary that occurred at about 9:45 AM on Saturday, March 29, 2015 at the Trattoria Ristorante at 264 Newbury Street.

Detectives were informed by the manager that the restaurant had been broken into at approximately 1:45 AM that morning, according to video surveillance footage. The manager provided the footage to detectives, who observed a suspect enter the restaurant by dropping through a common area ceiling between an electrical closet and a storage area. The video shows the suspect’s face before the suspect retreats then reappears wearing a hooded mask. The suspect is described as follows:

  • White male
  • Approximately 30+ years old
  • Wearing light clothing with gloves, masks, and hoods covering hands and face
  • Beard and mustache

A second, shorter suspect is also seen in the video wearing similar clothing, gloves, mask, and hood.

The suspects were able to make off with almost $500 in US currency, 3 Samsung Galaxy tablets, assorted bottles of wine and liquor valued at over $2,000, and food goods valued at approximately $200.
