ONE LESS GUN: At about 10:00PM, on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force observed a motor vehicle operating without its headlights activated in the area of Norfolk & Capen Streets in Dorchester. When officers attempted to stop the motor vehicle, the car took off. After losing sight of the vehicle, officers were able relocate the car unoccupied in the area of Washington & Walton Streets. While approaching the unoccupied car on foot, officers observed an individual (described as a black male wearing a black sweatshirt) running away from the area. Believing this individual to be the suspect, officers gave chase. Efforts to locate or subdue the suspect proved unsuccessful, however, officers did locate a firearm and a black sweatshirt believed to have been worn by the suspect during a search of several yards in the area of 24 Roslin Street. Additionally, a search of the suspect’s motor vehicle enabled officers to see and take possession of a magazine loaded with several rounds of ammunition.
