UPDATE: BPD Release Images of Motor Vehicle Wanted in Connection to the Shooting of 7 Year-Old Boy in Dorchester

The Boston Police Department is asking for the public's help in efforts to locate and identify a motor vehicle seen in the area of the shooting incident in which a 7 year-old boy was struck by errant gunfire in the area of 296 Bowdoin Street in District C-11 (Dorchester) on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at about 4:16pm. Investigators are releasing images of a white motor vehicle seen in the in the area at the time of the incident. The vehicle is believed to be a white Ford Fusion sedan with a moon roof and a rear spoiler. At this time, investigators are interested only in speaking with the occupants of the vehicle.

Said Commissioner William Evans: “I hope anyone with information that could help this investigation feels an obligation to come forward. The 7 year-old boy injured in this incident deserves as much. He didn’t do anything wrong. He was simply riding his bike to the store when the suspect in this case fired a round that could’ve killed him. Our detectives are working around the clock to identify the individual responsible but we need the community’s help. If you have information, please come forward. Holding onto it only helps the suspect. And those responsible need to be held accountable.”
