One Less Gun: BPD Officers Recover Two Firearms From One Suspect After Assault In Roxbury

At about 1:46 AM on Wednesday June 10, 2015, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) made an on-site arrest in the area of Tremont and Ruggles Streets after recovering two firearms from one suspect near Boston Police Headquarters.  The officers had initially responded to a radio call for a person with a gun in the area of Tremont and Camden Streets where they spoke with a female victim who stated that the suspect, later identified as Juan Pimental, 35, of Boston, had pulled two firearms out of what she described as a picnic basket and threatened her with them.  Officers observed and stopped a suspect matching the given description provided by the victim at the intersection of Tremont and Ruggles Streets.  Officers immediately performed a pat frisk of the suspect and upon feeling a loaded Hi-Point C9 9mm handgun in his waist band area the suspect stated “Yo, it’s gonna go off”.  Officers quickly removed the firearm and placed the suspect in custody.  Once the suspect was secure, the officers checked an orange cooler bag the suspect had been carrying and recovered a loaded Charter Arms Corp. Bulldog Tracker .357 magnum revolver from inside of it.  Officers later recovered a small amount of a Class B substance believed to be crack cocaine from the suspect during the booking process.

The suspect will appear in Roxbury District Court on charges of Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (To Wit: Firearm), Two Counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Two Counts of Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Two Counts of Possession of a Firearm 2nd and Subsequent and Possession of Class B Drugs.
