Commissioner Evans Completes Final Class Run with BPD Recruit Class #54-14

Today, Monday, June 15, 2015, members of Boston Police Academy Recruit Class #54-14 started and completed their final Academy Class Run to Boston Police Headquarters. The run, estimated at approximately 8 miles, began at the Boston Police Academy in Hyde Park and finished at the Boston Police Memorial adjacent to Boston Police Headquarters. Upon their arrival at Boston Police Headquarters, recruit officers laid a wreath at the Boston Police Memorial to honor and remember police officers killed in the line of duty. Commissioner Evans, who completed the class run with the recruits, offered the following: “I enjoyed running with all of you. Clearly, your academy training has served you well as you’re all in great shape and ready to hit the streets. Try as it did, the rain couldn’t put a damper on this very important and exciting day. In two days, your class graduates the Boston Police Academy and it will be my honor to swear you all in. Good luck and God bless you all.” Graduation is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 12:30pm at the IBEW Hall in Dorchester.
