Nothing Says Summer Better than the BPD Ice Cream Truck!!!

Busy Day for the BPD Ice Cream Truck: Nothing says summer and community policing better than the BPD Ice Cream Truck. Today, Saturday, June 27, 2015, the BPD Ice Cream Truck was spotted out and about sharing frosty treats with our friends at several community events including the Savin Hill Baseball League Challengers Division end-of-season cookout, the Bailey Street Block Party, the Matignon Road Block Party, Mother’s Rest Park Community Day and Meeting House Hill Community Day. To name a few. Special thanks to Boston PAL Director Bill Stoddard for donating all the ice cream served up around the city today.

Said Commissioner William Evans: “I think we’re the only police department in the country with an ice cream truck and I can’t say enough good things about it. When the truck shows up, the kids love it and our officers love it too because it gives them a platform and an opportunity to engage and interact with our city’s young people in a positive, friendly, productive way.”
