Community Alert: BPD Seeking Public’s Help in Effort to Identify Person of Interest in Connection to Two Break-ins in the Mission Hill Section of Roxbury

Detectives assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) are asking for the public’s help in efforts to identify the person seen in the enclosed image. The individual is a person of interest relative to two break-ins in Roxbury.  The individual is described as a black male with a scruffy beard, about 6’0” tall, medium build, wearing a black baseball hat, navy blue shirt, faded blue jeans and white sneakers. The individual was also seen carrying a backpack. 

The facts and circumstances are as follows: 

At about 6:55AM, on Monday, June 29, 2015, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a call for a breaking and entering in the area of 27 Cherokee Street in Roxbury. On arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated that someone had broken into his apartment and stolen his laptop computer and iPhone.   

A short time later, while officers were still on scene, officers were approached by a resident of nearby 43 Hillside Street who stated that she discovered an unknown black male inside her home. According to the victim, when she confronted the suspect, the suspect informed her that her door was unlocked and left the residence.  

The Boston Police Department is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Detectives assigned to District B-2 at (617) 343-4275.
