BPD IN THE COMMUNITY: (June 6, 2015) Major kudos to the members of Boston Police Academy Recruit Class #54-14 who today – as part of their community service class project - sponsored and paid for a kid’s sports and activities day at the Dorchester Boys & Girls Club. Members of the class spent the day playing and participating in several events including: dodge ball, kick ball, hula hooping and face painting. In addition to the above, the recruits also paid for and provided burgers, dogs and beverages for all the kids who stopped by the celebration. According to our sources, over 100 kids had a blast hanging out with Boston’s-soon-to-be-Finest. Said one of the recruits: “This event was great for the kids but equally great for us. Everyone here today learned a lesson in community policing and the importance of giving back, building trust and connecting with kids. It was awesome.” Class #54-14 is scheduled to graduate on June 17, 2015.
