One Less Gun: Concerned Citizen Assists DCU Officers in Recovering Firearm in Mattapan

At about 5:00 PM on Friday, June 5, 2015, members of the District B-3 (Mattapan) Drug Control Unit received information from a concerned citizen that two males were in possession of a firearm in the area of Franklin Field.

After receiving very specific information regarding the suspects and the location of the firearm, officers canvassed the area and discovered a Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun wrapped in a cloth under a tree near 60 Westview Street. The firearm was recovered and processed for further investigation. Officers canvassed the area for the suspects to no avail.
