Today, Monday, July 20, 2015, Boston Police Commissioner William Evans took a moment to speak with a group of teens from Sociedad Latina in Roxbury about the relationship between the police department and the community. The Commissioner stressed the need to make opportunities for positive interactions between youth and police officers.
“The ultimate goal for us as officers is to let kids know that we are here to keep them safe,” Commissioner Evans told them. “We’re not out there trying to lock kids up. We want to keep kids out of trouble, out of the gang lifestyle, and on the right path.”
