At about 5:57 PM on Saturday, July 11, 2015, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a call for a person or persons shot in the area of 87 Bailey Street in Dorchester. On arrival, officers learned that two victims had been transported from the scene and self-admitted to the Carney Hospital. Victim #1, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, was subsequently transported to Massachusetts General Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Victim #2 was treated and released from the Carney Hospital after receiving treatment for a non-life threatening injury described as a laceration. Victim #1 has since been identified as 20-year-old Jean C. Louis of Boston.
