Keeping Boston Safe: Members of the Area C-11 Neighborhood Drug Control Unit Seize a Gun, Drugs and Money from Drug Dealing Suspect in Dorchester: At about 1:30 PM on Saturday, July 25, 2015, members of the Area C-11 Neighborhood Drug Control Unit were conducting an investigation prompted by several community complaints relative to illegal drug dealing and activity in the area of Dorchester Ave & Taft Street. During the course of the investigation, officers observed an individual who appeared to be selling drugs from inside a gray colored motor vehicle. After observing the street level drug transaction, officers stopped the gray motor vehicle at the intersection of Auckland & Belfort Streets. While talking to the operator of the car, officers observed a plastic bag containing a tan, powdery substance, believed to be heroin, sitting on the center console of the vehicle. In light of these observations, officers instructed the suspect to exit the vehicle. A search of the car enabled officers to seize several smaller plastic bags of heroin and approximately a $1,000 in US Currency. In addition to the aforementioned, officers found and took possession of a loaded firearm (a Taurus .40 caliber handgun) found on the passenger-side of the car. (See photo).

Officers arrested Alyeri Gonzalez, 21, of Boston and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Distribution of a Class A Substance (Heroin) and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class A Substance (Heroin).
