Safe Summer Streets Program for Teens Kicks Off at the Daniel Marr Boys & Girls Club of Dorchester

IN THE COMMUNITY: Great time had by all earlier this evening (Monday, July 6, 2015) as Superintendent Randall Halstead, Deputy Joe Harris and Deputy Dennis White stopped by the Daniel Marr Boys & Girls Club of Dorchester to show their support for and help kick off the club’s Safe Summer Streets Program for Teens. The program, which runs through August 12th and is available to kids between the ages of 13 - 18, is designed to keep kids involved in activities and out of trouble throughout the summer. And tonight was certainly an example of that as the kids listened to live music, sang along and enjoyed a BBQ after the show. Said Teen Program Coordinator Sophia Rice, “It’s all about keeping our kids busy and out of trouble. Our teen program is designed to keep the kids looking ahead, focused on their futures and, hopefully, preparing themselves for college. If you have a teenager looking for something to do this summer, please send them our way, they won’t be disappointed.” To learn more about the Safe Summer Streets Program for Teens, please click on the enclosed link: http://bgcdorchester.org.
