BPD in the Community: BPD Officers Play a Hard Fought Game at the West End House Boys and Girls Club in Allston

On Friday evening at the West End House Boys and Girls Club in District D-14 (Allston/Brighton), over 250 campers, counselors, police officers and politicians came out for one of the most competitive "PAL - Cops vs. Kids" basketball games ever played.  The Kids of the West End House built up a 15 point lead by halftime but things got exciting in the second half, with the Cops closing the lead to 1 point in the final seconds.   In the end, the young roster of the home team, coached by Mark DaCruz-Director of Teen Services, was just too fast and talented.  Maybe next year?  Special thanks to William Stoddard, Executive Director of the Police Athletic League for sponsoring the event and to everyone who came out to cheer on both teams.
