Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Boston Police and Stratford (CT) Police Collaborate to Bring Missing Teen Home Safely

On July 29, 2015, the Stratford (CT) Police Department responded to a location in their town for a report of a missing juvenile. A mother reported that her 16-year-old daughter was missing and had last been seen the evening before. Detectives in Stratford immediately began working the case, making all efforts to locate the missing teen.

On August 3rd, the lead Stratford detective on the case contacted the Boston Police Department and informed BPD officers that the teen’s cell phone had “pinged” to a location in District B-2 (Roxbury). The information was immediately passed along to District B-2 detectives who began playing the area in search of the missing girl. Less than 24 hours later, the detectives located the female safe and sound. The Stratford PD detective, along with the teen’s mother, made the trip to Boston to reunite mother and daughter.
