One Less Gun: Search Warrant Allows Officers to Arrest One and Recover Two Firearms, Drugs in Dorchester

On Tuesday September 15, 2015, officers assigned to the City Wide Drug Control Unit executed a search warrant as part of an active and ongoing investigation in the area of 49 Withington Street in Dorchester.  Officers were able to recover a Hi-Point Model C-9 9mm Luger, a Hi-Point Model 995 X-19 9mm Assault Rifle, 63 rounds of ammunition and 12 ounces of marijuana. 

As a result, Christopher Murphy, 44, of Dorchester, was placed in custody without incident and will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of an Assault Rifle, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device (2 Counts), Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession With Intent to Distribute Class D Drugs.

As of September 15, 2015 the Boston Police Department has taken over 520 guns off the streets of the city.
