BPD Officers Make Observation Which Leads to Arrest of Marshfield Murder Suspect in Dorchester


At about 4:30 PM on Saturday September 26, 2015, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) made an observation which led to a significant arrest in the area of 11 Salcombe Street.  Officers were on directed patrol as part of an active and ongoing investigation into a homicide which occurred in Marshfield Massachusetts in the early morning hours of Wednesday September 17, 2015.  Officers spotted a motor vehicle parked and unattended which authorities believed was connected to the suspect, later identified as James Ferguson, 39, of Marshfield.  Officers remained in the area and performed low profile surveillance until additional units from the Boston Police SWAT Team, Massachusetts State Police and Marshfield Police arrived on scene.  Through their coordinated efforts, the suspect was located and placed in custody without incident.  Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz will be holding a 6:00 PM press conference at the Marshfield Police Department to provide further information.
