Promoting Peace One Step at a Time in Dorchester

Promoting Peace One Step at a Time in Dorchester:  Earlier this evening, Monday, September 28, 2015, Police Commissioner Evans, Superintendent Paul Fitzgerald, Deputy Gerard Bailey, Reverend Mark Scott and several members of the Dorchester community gathered at the Lilla G. Frederick Pilot Middle School on Columbia Road for a walk through the streets of the neighborhood. The walk was preceded by a prayer in which all in attendance prayed for peace and calm in our city. Said Commissioner Evans: “These walks are great. They give us a chance to walk the streets and talk to community members about concerns they may have in their neighborhoods. We want people to feel safe in their homes and communities and the neighborhood walks give us a chance to share that message and engage our community members.”
