Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Officers Arrest Suspect of Armed Robbery in Brighton

At about 12:45 AM on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, officers from District D-14 (Brighton) responded to a radio call for a robbery in progress in the area of Ashford and Chester Streets in Allston.

While en route, the 911 dispatcher informed officers that the suspect was a white male wearing a black hat and black windbreaker jacket. An officer observed a male fitting that description in the area of 5 Ashford Street. As the officer approached, the suspect attempted to run away but was quickly detained by the officer. Before the officer could speak, the suspect apologized profusely, admitting that he robbed the victim and that the knife was in his front pocket.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect held the victim at knife point and demanded money. When the victim reported he didn’t have any money, the suspect cut him with the knife, bit his ear, and stole his cell phone. The victim was treated by Boston EMS for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, 22-year-old Quincy T. Holland of Brighton, was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery, Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Knife), and Mayhem.
