Keeping Boston Safe: Officers Seize over 450 Grams of Cocaine and One Illegal Firearm During the Execution of Search Warrants

Yesterday, Thursday, September 3, 2015, the members of the Boston Police Drug Control Unit executed several search warrants relative to two separate investigations. The facts and circumstances of the incidents are as follows:

INCIDENT #1: On Thursday, September 3, 2015, members of the District B-3 (Mattapan) DCU applied for and executed two search warrants granted by Dorchester District Court. At about 12:30 PM officers observed the target of the warrants, 45-year-old Ramon Santana (aka Juan Carlos Carbajal) of Revere, in a motor vehicle in the area of 1010 Broadway in Chelsea, MA. With the assistance of a MA state trooper, officers conducted a stop of the motor vehicle and made contact with Santana. The search warrants for Santana’s vehicle and his person were executed, and officers recovered approximately 450 grams of cocaine from an after-market “hide” in the vehicle and approximately $700 from his person.

Santana was arrested and charged with Trafficking Class B Drugs (Cocaine) and Identity Fraud.

INCIDENT #2: At about 11:30 AM on Thursday, September 3, 2015, members of the City Wide DCU executed a search warrant out of Roxbury District Court for the person of 20-year-old Dashawn Davis of Boston in the area of Elm Hill Avenue and Seaver Street in District B-2 (Roxbury).

Officers observed Davis in a motor vehicle, and upon stopping the vehicle, announcing their office and search warrant, were informed by Davis that he was unlawfully in possession of a firearm. Officers subsequently recovered a Glock .40 caliber Model 22 firearm from Davis’s waistband. Officers also executed a second search warrant for Davis’s residence and recovered two plastic bags of crack cocaine. Officers placed Davis under arrest and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawfully Carrying a Loaded Firearm, and Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device.
