BPD IN THE NEWS: Boston Globe Highlights City's Lowest Crime Rate in Ten Years

IN THE NEWS: Thanks to the Boston Globe for today’s story shining a spotlight on the BPD’s ongoing efforts to make Boston one of the safest large cities in America. In the past year, major crime in Boston dropped by 9 percent bringing the number of major crimes in Boston to its lowest point in a decade. Said Commissioner Evans: “We’re doing our best to make these gains by keeping kids out of the system and giving them jobs and opportunities. We can’t lock kids up to achieve what we’re doing.”
