UPDATE: BPD Officer Involved in Yesterday’s Shooting Incident Continues to Recover from His Injuries: Yesterday, Friday, January 8, 2016, one of our officers was shot and injured in the area of 33 Mt. Bowdoin Terrace protecting and serving the citizens of our fine city. Thankfully, that officer continues to recover from what have been deemed non-life threatening injuries and his condition remains stable. Officer Kurt Stokinger, a father of two young children (a 7 year-old son and 4 year-old daughter) is a well thought of 9-year veteran of the department. To those who've sent prayers, well wishes and words of support, we say: "Thank you." Added Commissioner William Evans: “I am happy to report that Kurt continues to recover from his injuries. All indications are positive and we can continue to pray for him.” Any questions relative to Officer Stokinger’s recovery should be directed to the BPD’s Office of Media Relations.
