INCIDENT #1: At about 5:50 PM on Saturday October 29, 2016, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a person with a gun which resulted in the recovery of a loaded firearm and a suspect in custody in the area of 35 Glendale Street in Dorchester. As the officers were canvassing the area, they observed a person matching the given description, later identified as Vasco Dossantos, 28, of Dorchester, walking on Glendale Street near Columbia Road and approached to speak to him. When the suspect saw the officers exit their vehicle, he immediately ran down an alley next to 35 Glendale Street where he dropped a loaded .22 caliber Ruger SR22 firearm into a trash barrel before locking himself inside the home. At this time, additional units from several districts and specialized units responded to the area and set a perimeter around the address. Officers from the SWAT Team assigned to a citywide tactical response car then breached the door the suspect had entered through and cleared the house, eventually locating the suspect on the second floor where he was placed in custody without further incident. After officers safely recovered the discarded firearm it was determined it had previously been reported stolen in Concord, North Carolina. The suspect will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm and Receiving Stolen Property.
INCIDENT #2: At about 2:26 AM, on Sunday October 30, 2016, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) made an onsite firearm arrest in the area of Tremont Street and West Springfield Street in the South End. Witnesses stated that at about 2:15 AM, there had been an altercation out front of Slade’s located at 604 Tremont Street during which the suspect, later identified as Theodore Williams III, 37, of Roxbury, had displayed a firearm before fleeing the area in a motor vehicle. While canvassing the area, the officers observed the suspect vehicle travelling on Tremont Street and performed a traffic stop. Officers quickly recovered a loaded .380 caliber Smith & Wesson model PK380 handgun with an obliterated serial number from inside the vehicle and placed the suspect in custody without incident. It was later revealed that the suspect’s license to operate a motor vehicle had been suspended. The suspect will appear in Roxbury District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Firearm with an Altered Serial Number and Operating a Motor Vehicle After Revocation or Suspension.
INCIDENT #3: At about 8:24 PM on Sunday October 30, 2016, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested two suspects on firearm related charges in the area of Taunton Street and Wood Avenue in Hyde Park. The officers were in the area as part of an investigation when they observed the suspect vehicle commit a traffic infraction on Messinger Street and attempted to stop it. Upon seeing the officers activate their lights, the vehicle sped off, refusing to stop. While travelling down Ruskindale Street, a loaded 9mm Sig Sauer model P250 handgun was thrown out of the vehicle, landing on the front lawn of a home where it was later recovered. Officers were finally able to block the path of the fleeing vehicle at which time the operator, Danzie Daley, 29, of Mattapan and the passenger, Nathan Paisley, 27, of Mattapan, were removed and placed in custody without further incident. Both suspects will appear in West Roxbury District Court. Danzie Daley will be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Failure to Submit to a Police Officer and Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle. Nathan Paisley will be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (3rd & Subsequent), Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Carrying a Loaded Firearm.
