BPD in the Community: Commissioner Evans, Command Staff and Officers Enjoy First Responder Appreciation Day at Murphy School in Dorchester

Last week , on Friday September 30, 2016, students at the Richard Murphy Elementary School in Dorchester welcomed several of Boston’s Finest in honor of First Responder Day. The kids were all smiles as they got the chance to get in a couple of police cars and check out the equipment. Commissioner Evans and Chief Gross enjoyed spending time with the students as members of the BPD school police unit passed out free ice cream from the BPD ice cream truck. Thank you to all the students and faculty for welcoming and honoring our officers. And, as always, a thank you to our officers for taking the time to visit with the young community members they serve.
