One Less Gun: BPD Officers Seize Two Guns While Arresting Two Suspects on Gun-Related Charges in Dorchester

At about 12:40 PM on Thursday November 10, 2016, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force made an onsite firearm arrest as part of an active investigation in the area of Dorchester District Court at 510 Washington Street. While surveilling the area, officers observed an the target of their investigation operating a white motor vehicle. Upon seeing the individual, officers activated their lights and sirens and stopped the vehicle in the area of Park & Spencer Streets. Operating on information indicating that the operator of the vehicle may be armed, he and his passenger were instructed to exit the vehicle. Once outside the vehicle, a search of the car enabled officers to locate and confiscate two semi-automatic firearms, one found under the front passenger seat, the other inside the center compartment. Officers arrested Eugene Rabb, 25, of Boston and Devin Harris, 24, of Boston and charged both with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device.  The suspects have since been arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

Thanks to their efforts, there are two guns off the streets and no longer in a position to hurt or harm any of our citizens and for that I'm grateful to my officers."
