ONE LESS GUN: BPD Officers Seize a Gun and Arrest One on Gun and Drug Charges in Dorchester: About 1:39am, on Sunday, November 27, 2016, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force were on patrol in the area of Bowdoin Street and Geneva Ave when officers observed two individuals known to them through previous encounters. Upon seeing the officers, officers noted that both individuals appeared to be alarmed, nervous and panicked when the officers passed by. Upon seeing this reaction, officers stopped their vehicle. While turning around in their cruiser, officers observed both individuals take off running. While following behind the suspects, officers observed one of the individuals toss an item under a car parked in the area of 158 Bowdoin Street. Officers promptly retrieved the item (see photo) which proved to be a firearm. After a foot chase and search of the area, officers were able to apprehend the suspect seen discarding the firearm. Officers arrested Junior Dorvalier, 27, of Boston and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Electrical Weapon and Possession of Class B Drugs (Cocaine). When asked to produce a License to Carry a Firearm, the suspect stated, “I don’t have one.” A search of the suspect enabled officers to see and retrieve several small plastic bags of cocaine.  Further, a retracing of the suspect’s escape path enabled officers to see and recover a stun gun.
