At about 12:40 AM on Saturday, November 5, 2016, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a call for shots fired in the area of 2 Bentham Road in Dorchester. On arrival, officers located and recovered ballistic evidence but no victim. Officers later learned that a male victim, suffering from a gunshot wound, had left the scene prior to the arrival of police and had self-applied to an area hospital. The victim, a male believed to be in his late 20's, was later transferred to the Boston Medical Center where he later succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased.
