INCIDENT #2: At about 9:37 PM on Friday, December 9, 2016, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force affected an onsite arrest for firearm related charges in the area of Moultrie Street in District C-11 (Dorchester).

While on patrol, officers observed a male walking with his hood up and looking in all directions with his head on a swivel in the above area. Officers monitored the behavior of the male for a few moments before pulling their cruiser alongside to engage him in conversation. As the officers spoke, they observed the male become increasingly nervous and that there was an object with substantial weight inside the right pocket of his sweatshirt, causing the sweatshirt to hang down on that side. Fearing the presence of a weapon, officers exited the vehicle to perform a pat frisk. The male immediately put his hand inside his pocket while the officer grabbed his hand to prevent him from doing so. When the officer felt the male’s hand gripping a firearm, he alerted the other officers to its presence and the suspect was taken into custody. Officers were able to secure a loaded black Tanfoglio Giuseppe .32 caliber handgun recovered from the suspect’s right pocket. Also recovered were 7 small plastic bags containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana.

Officers arrested the 16-year-old juvenile male from Dorchester and charged him with Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawfully Carrying a Loaded Firearm, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D Drugs.
