UPDATE: BPD Officers Arrest Three Murder Suspects in the Shooting Death of Shawn Borden at 1631 Dorchester Ave

 

UPDATE: BPD Officers Arrest Three Suspects Wanted in Connection to the Shooting Death of Shawn Borden at 1631 Dorchester Ave: At about 5:50pm, on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of 1631 Dorchester Ave. On arrival, officers observed a male victim suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim, later identified as Shawn Borden, 41, of Boston, was transported to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased several days later.  

As the result of dogged determination and a never-quit pursuit of those responsible, members of the Boston Police Homicide Unit were able ascertain and establish the identities of three individuals wanted in connection to the murder of Shawn Borden. On today’s date, Friday, December 16, 2016, members of the Boston Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit and Youth Violence Strike Force were able to chase down and apprehend all three suspects. Officers arrested Tyshawn Sanders, 18, of Boston, Tyshawn Cummings, 21, of Boston and Jamari Manning, 21, of Boston and charged all three with Murder. All three suspects are expected to be arraigned Monday, December 19, 2016, in Dorchester District Court. 

Said Commissioner William Evans: “Today’s arrests should send a strong message to anyone who knowingly chooses to hurt or harm any member of our community. If you carry a gun and use it to take the life of another human being, we will find you and bring you to justice. The men and women of the Boston Police Department are committed to making our city the safest city it can be and today’s arrests most certainly speak to that commitment.”
