Community Alert: BPD Urges Caution After Breaking & Entering Reported in Boston's Bay Village Area

On Sunday, December 4, 2016, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) took a report for a breaking and entering that occurred in the area of Piedmont Street in Bay Village. The victims stated that an unknown person or persons entered their apartment at some point between 4:00 AM and 9:15 AM, taking several personal items before fleeing. Both victims, who were home sleeping at the time of the break in, did not hear anything and there were no signs of forced entry. It was not immediately clear if the front door had been locked prior to the incident. District A-1 Detectives are currently investigating.

The Boston Police Department would like to take this opportunity to advise residents to make sure their doors and windows are locked before leaving their homes or turning in for the night.  This also applies to your vehicle, be sure to double check that your car is secured and no valuables are in plain sight during this busy holiday shopping season.
