Because We Care: Commissioner Evans Talks to Aspiring Student-Athletes at the O’Neil Rink in Charlestown

‘Cuz We Care: Commissioner Evans Talks to Aspiring Student-Athletes at the O’Neil Rink in Charlestown: Commissioner Evans recently stopped by the O’Neil Rink in Charlestown to talk to the kids playing and participating in the Orchard Gardens Hockey Program, a program designed to introduce inner-city kids to the game of hockey. Commissioner Evans was asked to talk to the kids about the importance of setting goals, making good decisions and overcoming adversity. Said the Commish, “I told all the kids there was nothing they couldn’t do. If they were willing to work hard, believe in themselves and their dreams ... I told them there wasn’t one thing they couldn’t achieve.” Special thanks to BPD Officer Stephanie O’Sullivan who accompanied Commissioner Evans to the rink. Stephanie’s the Director of the O’Sullivan Hockey School www.osullivanhockey.com and she and her staff put the kids through several skating drills.
