At about 9:03 PM on Monday, February 1, 2016, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force were on patrol in the area of Blue Hill Ave and Columbia Road when officers observed a motor vehicle travelling with an expired registration. In light of the motor vehicle law violation, officers activated their emergency equipment (lights and sirens) and stopped the car near Blue Hill Ave & Supple Road in District B-2 (Roxbury). As the vehicle was coming to a stop, officers observed the front seat passenger exit the car and take off running. Meanwhile, two other occupants of the vehicle remained inside the car. Fearing the presence of a weapon, officers asked the occupants to exit the vehicle. Officers arrested Dashawn Jackson, 26, of Boston and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a High Capacity Weapon and Possession w/Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug (Cocaine).
