One Less Gun: Officers Make Arrest, Recover Loaded Firearm After Two Victims Grazed by Bullets in Dorchester

At about 10:45 PM on Thursday February 4, 2016, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) on sited a shots fired incident in the area of 500 Geneva Avenue.  An officer on patrol reported hearing gunfire then located a victim suffering from a graze wound from a bullet and gave out a description of a suspect who had been seen fleeing the scene.  Responding officers from the Youth Violence Strike Force observed a suspect matching the given description and stopped him in the area of Freeman Street.  Officers immediately frisked the suspect and recovered a loaded .22 caliber Phoenix Arms handgun which appeared to have been recently fired.  The suspect, Rasheed Hall, 25, of Boston, was then placed in custody without incident and transported to an area hospital for treatment of an apparent stab wound sustained during the incident.  A second victim with a graze wound from a bullet was located at an area hospital a short time later and interviewed by detectives.  Upon his release from the hospital, the suspect will be booked and charged with numerous offenses before facing arraignment in Dorchester District Court.
