The Boston Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and fellow officers of fallen Prince William County Police Officer Ashley Guindon. On Saturday afternoon, Officer Guindon’s first shift as an active duty police officer, Officer Guindon and two fellow officers responded to a domestic violence incident. Upon arrival, the suspect opened fire, killing Officer Guindon and wounding the two other officers. Thousands of officers attended funeral services today to honor Guindon’s life before she will be laid to rest on Monday in Western Massachusetts. With heavy hearts, the BPD keeps Officer Guindon and the recovering officers in our thoughts and prayers. We remember Guindon for her courage and service to her city, answering the call that ended her life far too soon. Rest in peace, Officer Guindon; you will not be forgotten.
