Great Work Recognized: Commissioner Evans Honored at Paraclete Annual Reception

On Wednesday, February 24, 2016,  Police Commissioner William Evans was honored by Paraclete, an extracurricular enrichment program for young students, at their annual reception. Honorary co-chairs for the event were Congressman Stephen F. Lynch and Mayor Martin J. Walsh.

Paraclete is described on their website as an “out-of-school educational enrichment program, offering Boston students in the 4th through 8th grades the academic support, homework and tutoring assistance, enrichment classes, and education-based field trips needed to boost achievement.”

Commissioner Evans and his family have been very supportive of Paraclete for many years, with his wife and son teaching and his children being tutored. Boston police officers assisted the event by transporting forty young Paraclete students who had the opportunity to attend the event in our Boston Police PAL (Police Activities/Athletics League) vans.
