UPDATE: Officers Locate and Identify Suspect Wanted in Connection to Downtown Armed Robbery.

At about 8:15 AM on Monday, February 29, 2016, officers from District A-1 conducted an investigation in the area of 39 Boylston Street, Downtown.

Officers on patrol observed an individual that fit the description of a suspect depicted in Boston Regional Intelligence Center bulletins that requested information on the identity of a male involved in an armed robbery incident that occurred on January 30, 2016. As a result of further investigation, officers stopped, identified, and confirmed that this individual was in fact the suspect pictured in the bulletin wearing a black North Face Jacket and black hat. Officers arrested 30-year-old Jose Manuel Lopez of Boston and charged him with Armed Robbery, Assault and Battery on an Elderly/Disabled Person, and Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon to wit: Knife.

The BPD would like to thank those in the community who assisted by providing information to the investigation.
