Keeping Boston Safe: Officers Execute Two Search Warrants, Recover Two Firearms, Arrest Two as Part of Active Investigation

At about 6:00 AM on Wednesday March 9, 2016, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force and City Wide Drug Control Unit simultaneously executed two search warrants at two separate locations as part of an active and ongoing investigation.

Location #1:  Officers made peaceful entry into an apartment at 442 River Street in Mattapan where they located and detained the target of their investigation, Jordan Searcy, 20, of Mattapan.  The suspect was placed in custody without incident after officers recovered a Smith & Wesson .40 caliber handgun.  The suspect has been arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a High Capacity Feeding Device and Armed Career Criminal.

 Location #2:  Officers arrived at 81 Whitfield Street in Dorchester and attempted to make contact with the occupants of the apartment after knocking and announcing their presence.  After being met with resistance, officers made a forced entry and secured the occupants, including the target of their investigation, Jarrod Simmons, 19, of Dorchester.   After a thorough search, officers were able to recover a loaded Jiminez 9mm handgun, twenty small bags of crack cocaine, two small bags of marijuana packaged for sale and $498.00 in U.S. Currency.  The suspect was placed in custody without incident and has been arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession with intent to Distribute Class B Drugs and Possession with intent to Distribute Class D Drugs.
