One Less Gun: Officers Make Arrest After Recovering Loaded Firearm During Motor Vehicle Stop in Roxbury

At about 2:55 AM on Thursday March 10, 2016, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) made an onsite firearm arrest after a traffic stop in the area of 127 Martin Luther King Boulevard in Roxbury.  Officers were on routine patrol in the area when they observed a motor vehicle commit a traffic infraction.  When officers pulled the car over, they observed a firearm sticking out from the rear pocket of the front passenger seat with the handle pointed back towards the operator.  After the officers removed the operator of the vehicle, Curtis White, 27, of Dorchester, they recovered the gun and determined it to be a loaded Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum with an obliterated serial number.  The suspect was placed in custody without incident and will be arraigned in Roxbury District Court of charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number.
