One Less Gun: Officers Recover Firearm, Make Arrest While Conducting Drug Investigation in Dorchester

At about 1:06 PM on Wednesday March 2, 2016, officers assigned to the District B-3 (Mattapan) Drug Control Unit made an onsite firearm arrest in the area of Wales Street and Talbot Avenue in Dorchester.  The officers were in the area conducting a drug investigation when they approached James Kearse, 25, of Boston.  The officers observed that the suspect was clutching at the waist band area of his pants and backing away from them as they were speaking to him.  Officers conducted a pat frisk and recovered a loaded Charter Arms .44 caliber Bulldog Revolver which was sticking out of the front of his pants.  The suspect was placed in custody without incident and will be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (Second and Subsequent) and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
