Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Officers Arrest Taunton Murder Suspect in Roxbury

Earlier today, Friday, March 25, 2016, members of the Boston Police Fugitive Unit with the assistance of the Mass State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section arrested 20-year-old Miguel Marrero of Taunton on a murder warrant stemming from the shooting death of a victim in Taunton yesterday.

After extensive investigation, officers were able to pinpoint a possible location of the suspect Marrero. Officers attempted to establish a perimeter around a residence in the area of 50 John Eliot Square, Roxbury when the rear door opened and the suspect Marrero attempted to flee, accompanied by a second individual later identified as 19-year-old Moises Cintron of Brockton. When confronted by the officers, Marrero retreated back into the stairwell where he was quickly apprehended. Cintron assaulted an officer prior to fleeing on foot, however, District B-2 (Roxbury) officers along with BPD K-9 Rocky converged on the area, located Cintron, and took him into custody.

Marrero will answer to the charge of Murder in Taunton District Court. Cintron was charged with Assault and Battery on a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest. He will be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
