One Less Gun: Officers Arrest One, Recover Firearm After Traffic Stop in Roxbury

At about 6:15 PM on Saturday April 17, 2016, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force made an onsite firearm arrest after making a motor vehicle stop in the area of Dudley and Adams Streets in Roxbury.  Officers were on routine patrol when they observed a car driving around the Orchard Park Housing Development with a missing front license plate and a broken taillight.  Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke to the operator, Quantae Elmore, 19, of Randolph, who informed them that he did not have a valid driver’s license.  Officers then removed the suspect and placed him in custody without incident.  Prior to towing the car, officers performed a motor vehicle inventory search which revealed an Amadeo Rossi S.A. 32 caliber revolver and six rounds of ammunition.  Officers later recovered a small amount of a Class E substance from the suspect during the booking process.  The suspect will appear in Roxbury District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Class E Drugs.
