The BPD "Lights It Up Blue" for Autism Awareness Month!

April is Autism Awareness Month, and today, Saturday, April 2, 2016, is the 9th Annual World Autism Awareness Day.

"Light It Up Blue" is a global initiative that kicks-off Autism Awareness Month to help raise mindfulness about this disorder. Many iconic landmarks, businesses, and homes light their facility or home by shining a blue light to take part in "Light It Up Blue".

Boston Police Headquarters will be "going blue" again this year! Commissioner Evans invited Department members to wear the color blue on April 1 and join him outside for a group photograph to show the BPD's support for Autism Awareness at the Police Memorial at Boston Police Headquarters. As you can see, we had a great turn-out for the kick-off. The BPD will continue to educate and bring awareness to Autism this month and every month!
