One Less Gun: Two Under Arrest After a Disturbance Call in Jamaica Plain Leads to the Recovery of Two Loaded Firearms

At about 10:20 AM on Sunday April 3, 2016, officers assigned to District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to a radio call for a disturbance at 3148 Washington Street.  During the incident, officers placed Sherdrick Harris, 53, of Jamaica Plain, under arrest for Possession of Class B Drugs.  While inside the suspect’s apartment, officers observed a large amount of drug paraphernalia and froze the apartment pending the issuance of a search warrant.

At about 12:50 PM, officers stopped a 16 year old juvenile male from Dorchester who was attempting to gain entry to the apartment through a back door.  Officers performed a pat frisk and recovered a loaded Colt .45 caliber Series 80 Gold Cup National Match Mark IV handgun equipped with a red laser sight from the waistband area of his pants.  The suspect was quickly placed in custody without incident.  Officers later recovered four bags crack cocaine packaged for sale and $114.00 in U.S. Currency from the suspect.  The juvenile suspect will be arraigned in West Roxbury Juvenile Court on charges of Delinquent to Wit: Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession of Class B Drugs.

At about 8:30 PM, District E-13 Detectives executed a search warrant for the apartment which led to the recovery of a loaded Walther P38 handgun, a small bag of marijuana, a small bag of heroin and 17 pills of a prescription drug.  As a result, the adult suspect will be facing additional drug and weapons charges in West Roxbury District Court.
