Keeping Boston Safe: Concerned Tipsters Lead to Drug Arrests and Seized Ammunition at Mattapan Market

At about 11:40 AM on Saturday, April 30, 2016, members of the District B-3 (Mattapan) Neighborhood Drug Control Unit with members of the Youth Violence Strike Force executed a search warrant in the area of 734 Blue Hill Avenue, the D&D Market.

After receiving multiple CrimeStoppers tips reporting that drugs were being distributed from the above location, officers conducted a thorough investigation and were granted a Dorchester District Court search warrant. On the above date and time, officers executed said warrant and recovered the following evidence:

  • Approximately a pound and a half of marijuana
  • Approximately $180 in US currency
  • Various paraphernalia consistent with the distribution of illegal drugs including scales, packaging, and personal papers
  • Twenty-three rounds of .357 caliber ammunition

As a result of the search and ensuing incidents, officers arrested 39-year-old Jamal Forrest of Hyde Park for Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D Drugs (Marijuana) and 33-year-old Felucia Stevens of Dorchester for Disorderly Persons, Drinking in Public, and Resisting Arrest. Two additional adult suspects were summoned to Dorchester District Court for Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D Drugs and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
