One Less Gun: Search Warrant Enables BPD Officers to Recover Over 400 Rounds of Ammunition, a Firearm and 22 Dirt Bikes in Dorchester

On Friday, May 20, 2016, members of the District C-11 (Dorchester) Neighborhood Drug Control Unit executed a search warrant at 7 Speedwell Street in Dorchester. Upon entering the location, officers observed and recovered over 400 rounds of ammunition and a silver-colored revolver. Prior to entering the location, officers conducted a protective sweep of the property. During the sweep, officers observed several dirt bikes and off-road vehicles in the rear of the location, as well as, in the basement of the property. All told, officers counted 22 dirt bikes/off-road vehicles on the property. In light of the unsafe, hazardous storage of the gas-powered vehicles, members of the Boston Fire Department responded to the scene and ordered the immediate removal of all the dirt bikes.
