Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Officers Arrest Two Suspects After Attempted Armed Robbery Near Boston Police Headquarters

 

At about 4:18 AM on Sunday May 22, 2016, officers assigned District B-2 (Roxbury) placed Ricky Knight, 27, of Roxbury and Anthony Haskins, 24, of Roxbury in custody in the area of Walnut Avenue and Fenno Street after an attempted armed robbery which occurred near Boston Police Headquarters. Officers spoke to the victim who stated that while walking in the area of Tremont and Prentiss Streets, Knight approached with a firearm in hand and attempted to take the victim’s phone. The victim resisted and ran from the suspect who then entered a silver motor vehicle which was operated by Haskins. The two suspects drove past the victim and headed outbound on Tremont Street towards Martin Luther King Boulevard. Officers located and stopped the vehicle a short time later and removed both suspects, placing them in custody without incident after being positively identified. The vehicle was later searched but no firearm was recovered. Both suspects will appear in Roxbury District Court on charges of Intent to Rob while Armed.
