Keeping Boston Safe: Officers Seize Drugs and Arrest Two for Trafficking in Mattapan

At about 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, members of the District B-3 (Mattapan) Neighborhood Drug Control Unit made several arrests for trafficking in the area of 1641 Blue Hill Avenue.

While conducting surveillance in the Mattapan Square area, officers observed the occupants of a vehicle conducting hand-to-hand drug transactions with multiple individuals on foot. After a possible transaction, officers followed one individual on foot to the rear of 1602 Blue Hill Avenue where the individual, a 26-year-old male from Boston, was found to be in possession of two bags of crack cocaine which he admitted to purchasing from the vehicle’s passenger.

Officers requested assistance and returned to the vehicle to place the two occupants under arrest for distributing drugs. As officers approached the vehicle and attempted to take the passenger into custody, a violent struggled ensued during which the suspect struck one officer with the car door and kicked and punched other officers. After a lengthy struggle, officers took 21-year-old Esau M. Gorman of Boston into custody. The operator of the vehicle, 24-year-old Dorall M. Hilton of Hyde Park, was found to be in possession of a bag of crack cocaine and operating without a driver’s license.

From a backpack in the vehicle, officers seized approximately 25 medium sized bags of crack cocaine, six bags of marijuana, and over $1400.00 in US currency.

Gorman was arrested and charged with Trafficking Class B, Cocaine (28-99 grams), Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D (Marijuana), Resisting Arrest, and Assault and Battery on a Police Officer.

Hilton was arrested and charged with Trafficking Class B, Cocaine (28-99 grams), Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws, Distribution of Class B, Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D (Marijuana), and Operating without a Driver’s License.

The 26-year-old male was summoned to court for Possession of Class B, Cocaine.
