Honoring Fallen Heroes: Boston's 12th Annual Run to Remember Kicks Off in the Seaport District

In the early morning hours of Sunday May 29, 2016, Commissioner William Evans took his place at the starting line in the Seaport District for the 12th annual running of Boston's Run to Remember.  The race consists of a half marathon and five mile road course and is held in honor of fallen heroes from the law enforcement community across the country.  This year’s race attracted over 10,000 runners and featured special tributes to Trooper Thomas Clardy of the Massachusetts State Police and Officer Ronald Tarantino of the Auburn Police Department, both of whom were killed this year in the line of duty.  Thank you to the event organizers and all the runners, including officers from over 100 police departments nationwide who took part in this special day.  And as always, a special thanks to the many officers who worked hard to ensure a safe and fun event for all involved.
