BPD Honors and Remembers Officer Joseph Zanoli on One-Year Anniversary of his Passing

On Saturday, May 7, 2016, members of the Boston Police Department gathered with the family of late Boston Police Officer Joseph Zanoli to dedicate a plaque in his honor at the District C-11 (Dorchester) Neighborhood Station, where Officer Zanoli spent his seven-year career prior to passing away unexpectedly at age 46 on May 7, 2015.

During the ceremony, Officer Zanoli was remembered fondly by his coworkers as the guy who was always first to respond when an officer was in trouble, the one who had everyone’s back and could rectify any situation, and as having a wealth of knowledge in the subjects of criminal and motor vehicle law—always the officer others turned to with a tricky law or procedure question. Officer Zanoli is survived by his two sons, Luke and Gavin, who were on hand to unveil the plaque on the wall under the words “C-11 Remembers.”
